Joy to the World A Journey with God eBook Joy Smith
I found this to be a fascinating and informational true story about missionary work in the middle of the twentieth century. The aspect was a little different as Joy grew up and was sent out from Australia rather than the United States, Canada, or England. Actually, perhaps it was New Zealand. She delves quite intensively into her call to be a single missionary, choosing obedience to her calling rather than marriage at several points in her life. She has a great ministry, ranging from being the first woman missionary, maybe the first missionary, to undertake a traveling, preaching and teaching ministry among the tribespeople of northeastern India and small bordering countries. As a nurse and midwife she had many opportunities for medical ministry as well. Obedience to the Lord's voice and leading is stressed, and many time the Lord guided her in such a way that although misunderstood at the time, was later proved to be vital. An example would be her call to go alone into the itinerant tribe work with an urgency at a time when complete freedom was given to foreign missionaries in that area. Several years later, political changes resulted in that area being closed to foreigners, but by that time, tribal Christians were able to carry on the work that she started. The last chapters relate her ministry in her homeland, the Philippines, the USA, and actually worldwide. This is an inspirational example of a life yielded to GodProduct details

Joy to the World A Journey with God eBook Joy Smith Reviews
This is the autobiography of Joy Smith, a woman who served for 24 years as a missionary in northeast India. Her adventures were both fascinating and inpirational. Joy started telling her story at the age of 78, and to this day does not use a computer. It's a book that's hard to put down.
Joy Smith shared her amazing testimony of working as a nurse, missionary, teacher and speaker of the Christian faith. Joy' s love of God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit radiate throughout each page. Joy' s story has inspired me to continue to believe that God continues to send ordinary people to do extraordinary, daring missions, fully equipped, and successful, through prayers and obedience. We are never to old to be used by the Father. How exciting!
Exciting first hand encounters from this wonderful wee kiwi!
Inspiring story about a very inspiring woman. Short easy read
Bereft that I have finished such an inspirational testimony. Am lost just thinking of not having any more chapters to walk through with a woman I so would have loved to have met and known. I thank her for heeding God's command to commit her journey to paper for others to share.
